Eighty one percent of Americans experience Sunday Night Blues, according to a recent poll on Monster.com. WOW!
81%!!!!!
I used to suffer from the Sunday night blues. I'd wake up Sunday morning with a knot in my stomach, and I just knew it was because I was stressing over having to go to work on Monday.
Then, that anxiety spread backward into my Saturdays. And eventually, just crept into my Fridays. I sometimes felt sad and stressed almost all weekend!
UGH. I knew there was something wrong.
4 Tips to Help you Beat the Sunday Night Blues:
Thomas Joiner, Ph.D., professor of psychology, Florida State University says the best way to take the edge off is by doing 10 minutes of work before dinner on Sunday. (Personally, that just sounds awful to me.)
Spend a few minutes visualizing Monday's tasks. Supposedly this reduces anxiety and that Sunday blues feeling. (Also sounds awful to me.)
Schedule something fun for Sunday nights. I had a group of friends that got together for a “Sunday Night Barbeque” and that did the trick for me (for a while). Go to a weekly yoga class, or schedule a movie night. You get the picture.
Here's our best recommendation to cure the Sunday night blues.Figure out what you want you life to look like. What you really want to do. How you want to spend your time. Who you want to spend it with. Then go do that.Don't wait for everything to be perfect. We only have one life (that we know of).Stop dreaming about it. Go and do it. Live the life of your dreams.
Did you know that whatever you put on the Internet, stays on the Internet… FOREVER?
Whether you are in a job, looking for a job, own a business, in an MLM Company or work directly with us, learning how to build your credibility online is essential.
It has never been more important to manage your reputation and build your credibility online.
In this video, we go through how you can not only build your credibility, but how you can dominate the search results for your name.
5 Steps to Build Your Credibility Online and Dominate Google for your Name
Make sure that you own your “name” (URL) online. For example, I have KarlaSilver.com and Don has DonSilver.me. Build a website, or have a website built for you. This should not be expensive. You can have someone on Fiverr.com build one for you for just a few dollars.
Choose 3-5 keywords that describe you, your values and/or your accomplishments. For example, “stay-at-home mom,” “professional sales person,” “internet marketer.” Make sure they are keywords that you really describe you and what you stand for.
Go to LinkedIn first. Put that string of keywords throughout your profile. See the video tutorial either on this page or here.
Then copy, EXACTLY, those keywords in the profile/about area on each of the following social media sites:
Facebook
Twitter
Google+ (this one is very important)
YouTube
Lastly, make sure that, whatever you put online, it is what you would want your MOTHER to see. I can’t tell you how many idiotic things we’ve seen people post on the Internet. Porn, too many cat videos, crazy religious rants will get you UNFRIENDED and will never get you that job or promotion you might be looking for today or sometime in the future.
Learning how to build your credibility online is super-simple, but, most importantly one of the most important things you can do for your career.
Malcom Gladwell, in his book, “Outliers,” asserted that in order to gain “master” or “outlier” status… in anything… a person has to amass at least 10,000 hours practicing their craft.
Well, I have my 10,000 hours of prospecting, and, while I'm freakishly good at it, I can say with all my heart, that “I hate prospecting.”
It wasn't always this way. For many years, I just considered it a necessary part of my job. As I moved up the ladder of my career, it was critical for my skills to develop to the next level so that I could continue to provide value to my customers and the company I worked for.
Then, after I transitioned into the Direct Sales industry, and became an entrepreneur, it was even more crucial to my success to be the best at prospecting that I could be.
After all, that's how I made my money, right?
I studied with master prospectors. I spent 4-5 hours a day for over ten years honing my craft. I had the honor of coaching tens of thousands of individuals on their prospecting skills.
Then, one day, I realized that I was miserable. I hated picking up the phone, and most of all, I HATED PROSPECTING. Even worse, I had begun to hate the people that were expecting my calls! I knew that I never, ever wanted to pick up the phone again.
Even worse, I realized that while I was great at it, most people, even my students, were awful. While I did my best to train people to do what I was able to do, there were two HUGE issues that crushed my students ability to succeed:
Almost no one enjoys picking up the phone to talk to someone they don't know. Overcoming “phone fear” was ridiculously difficult to cure.
Even when one of my students overcame their fear, the ramp up time to excellence was just too long for anyone to really succeed.
Most people and businesses have difficulty generating enough people to talk to about their products and services that success takes a very long time and most people give up.
So, what do you do, when your best skill, one you've attained “outlier” status with, is suddenly the very last thing you want to do?
What I did was transfer my skills to the online marketing world. While I almost never pick up the phone to “prospect” anymore, the communication skills and work ethic that took me to “outlier” status, work in my business through:
Writing blog posts, like this
Communicating to my prospects through email and video
Inspiring my partners to grow their business
My ability to clearly train my affiliates on how to maket their businesses and make more sales
